[SOLVED] Frequency scaling intel p state vs ACPI?

When configuring my kernel i enabled both intel p state and ACPI. Intel p state is enabled in my UEFI settings.

Is there any benefit having both enabled, or can i remove ACPI kernel parameter? In kernel i have governor "Performance" set.

I have slighty overclocked my 6900K from base clock 3.2 GHz to 3.5 GHz, but the clock seems all over the place, i took a screenshot from xfce4-screenshooter:

So, after i toasted my previous 6900K i'm kind of meticulous/careful about my CPU. Temps are great though, around +22-25° C but so they were even with my previous CPU.

The intel-pstate driver is usually better because it's "hardware accelerated", in the sense that it tells the CPU to tune for performance/powersaving and the kernel doesn't manage it after that. The only downside is that the OS doesn't always know how fast the CPU's running any more and values in /proc/cpuinfo may be misleading; you need to use a tool like cpupower to get accurate info but it's usually not important anyway.

If that works for you, go ahead and disable the acpi driver. The intel driver doesn't depend on it in any way.

That kind of confirms my suspition(s).

The toasted CPU i drove up to 4.2 GHzon all 8 Cores and threads, and the compilation was blazing fast. Intel P state disabled in UEFI and only on ACPI.
Well, that didn't end to well.

I'll disable the ACPI, and report back if that some how change things.

If p-state and ACPI are enable both the p-state have the priority
