|
|
Hello!
I recently re-emerged my whole amd64 - official GNOME - notebook in order to check integrity and to compile all packages with gcc 6.4 with help of the script of Guenther Brunthaler here .
I know it is not necessary to recompile the whole system after a gcc upgrade but I took it as an occasion to clean up my system and to ensure everything works as it supposed to do.
The script should handle the recompiling better than emerge -e. It is already outdated but still works for me. Does anyone else still use it?
On my system only 6 ~amd64 packages are installed, so I expected to recompile without much trouble. Indeed only 3 packages out of ~1250 failed.
I wanted to share my experience of the script with you.
Regards,
