Hiya,

I'm currently in the process of my first gentoo install, and I'm having an issue installing freetype-2.8 with emerge. Here's the output of `emerge --info '=media-libs/freetype-2.8::gentoo'`:

Code:

From reading the output, I've at least figured out that the permissions on `include/freetype/config/ftoption.h` are actually created with no permissions when emerge prepares the source files. It's just that if I change the file permissions and try to emerge freetype again, the entire file hierarchy is re-prepared.
I figure it's a simple thing to solve, but I'm stumped. (Was thinking I could try and find the ebuild.sh file and edit it a bit so it changes the permissions after it gets unzipped, or prevent emerge from repreparing the source) Any ideas?

You can run all step of emerge separately with ebuild command
Code:
# ebuild /usr/portage/media-libs/freetype/freetype-2.8.ebuild unpack
now you can change permission of file
# ebuild /usr/portage/media-libs/freetype/freetype-2.8.ebuild install qmerge

But your problem is another because is strange that emerge haven't permissions.
You use btrfs filesystem? (I read recently another thread with emerge permissions problem with btrfs)
