After running for close to 13 days ksysguard, it is using 1.7GiB of RAM
When you start it, it needs less than 50MiB
What is going on? Can anybody reproduce this? (keeping ksysguard open during three days minimum)

Wow, thanks for your input, I googled a lot, on gentoo (before opening a post), on bugs.gentoo and on Google!
I don't have an account in bugs.kde.org but after seeing the massive response over this post and the 8 year old "Unconfirmed" bug over your link, I think it is not worth even registering :/.
I thought ksysguard was an awesome tool when you consider adding networked machines to it, but some regex expressions autodelete themselves when a network connection gets lost, it forgets credentials too often when restarting the software (a nice reason to keep it open for so long), doesn't report nor recover from a host rebooting (just making up values on the charts), when you ask for memory map details with a dark desktop theme, the letters are black over dark grey (unreadable), etc...
And when you see the last commits on ksysguard you start wondering if admins and users just have moved along to htop, atop or even mrtg, because I see no significant improvements for many years (although many meaningless version bumps to plasma)
Anyway, thank you! |
