Is anyone here running Steam with GCC5+?
Afaik, current Steam Runtime relied on GCC4 and is not compatible with GCC5+. But then, disabling STEAM_RUNTIME breeds a new whole level set of headaches because the games themselves expect to use the libraries from Steam's Runtime.
Or am I missing something? _________________ "Nolite arbitrari quia venerim mittere pacem in terram non veni pacem mittere sed gladium" (Yeshua Ha Mashiach) |

Works here with 'sys-devel/gcc-7.2.0' and STEAM_RUNTIME enabled. _________________ Kindest of regardses. |

Haven't you ever had problems regarding libGL and family? Have you ever tried it with primus?
Thing is, primus tries to impose its own version of libGL, which gets in the way with Steam's, if I understood it correctly:

If I remember right, the only issues like that might have been something with nvidia-drivers, that could be worked around with setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH and/or LD_PRELOAD, but none of that is going on currently.
I do not have anything to try Primus with, unfortunately. _________________ Kindest of regardses. |
