here is my .xinitrc:

export GTK_IM_MODULE=xim
xterm&
fcitx&
fbpanel&
exec herbstluftwm --locked |
all the first time after entering system executing startx will make fbpanel start , but after startx several times(usually two times), fbpanel windows could not be shown.
this time fbpanel will run while typing fbpanel& in xterm

Hi mathabstrction,
I start fbpanel from my window manager (I use openbox). In .xinitrc I have "openbox-session", and in .config/openbox/autostart.sh I have "fbpanel &". Maybe you can call fbpanel from herbstluftwm? |
