qmmp 1.1.7 with qmmp-plugin-pack on x86_64.
Opening the Streaming plugin (CTRL-U), then selecting an Icecast stream and clicking '+ Add' button does nothing.
Downloading and building current upstream 1.1.10 with all plugins, this functions perfectly.

Oh! Thank you. I should have thought to check if that was so. I will try it and compare to upstream build. |

Hmm. How do I tell if I'm on the most up to date tree? I only installed this system about 5 days ago from a new .ISO (Funtoo though, would that make a difference? I though Funtoo was just a derivative still on on top of Gentoo.)
Running porthole, I see this for qmmp:
Available versions for amd64:
0.10.5, 0.10.6, 1.0.10-r1, 1.1.6, 1.1.7
Directly viewing http://distfiles.gentoo.org/distfiles/ I can see there is qmmp-1.1.10-tar-bz2 there so I must be pointing at an old index or something. I re-ran emerge --sync and no difference.
Apologies for what must be a silly mistake on my end but I haven't yet seen how to verify my setup is pointing to the newest distfiles. |

Please post the output of emerge --info. Since you are using Funtoo, it's possible that your system is configured to sync to some tree other than the canonical Gentoo Portage tree. If so, you might not have access to the same ebuilds that standard Gentoo users get by default. |

You can create a local overlay and add qmmp-1.1.10.ebuild _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Thank you, I will try that ebuild link.
The raw build of upstream 1.1.10 works fine on my system, but I do want to use an ebuild so my portage knows about the installation.
Aha... I rooted around on that link you gave to the ebuild.... http://data.gpo.zugaina.org/funtoo/media-sound/qmmp/ only goes up to 1.1.7 so I guess my issue *is* something to do with what Funtoo sees, versus what Gentoo sees. It seems Funtoo is a bit behind.
Is there a simple way to point at Gentoo to update my system or would that cause issues due to the base install being Funtoo? |
