I think he's playing the younger Jar Jar, probably in the origin story arch.

Before Jar Jar was the way he was.

So it continues the theme of VII.
Yeah but we all needed that after Ep. 1,2,3

I'm pretty fed up of the vast majority of superhero fare and never watch any in the cinema and this Star Wars feels a bit like Avengers in space

I've seen it. Last saturday.
Big thing. Screen, 24 chairs and sound to die for.
....
...pfffth!!
I hated it. The theme is so much and the movie was so little.
So, it's bareable to watch. Sometimes I just wonder where is Christian Bale? Oh, wait! He's not in this movie!
Thank you !

No reviews yet? I was expecting at least a couple of people to have commented on having gone or their plans to go see it.

EDIT:
Not a spoiler, but you may not want to read this wrote:
While most reviewers lauded “The Last Jedi’s” thrilling effects and emotional core, not all critics shared in the unbridled praise of the film. Variety‘s Peter Debruge wrote that while entertaining, “The Last Jedi” is “the longest and least essential chapter in the series” and that due to its inconsequential plotlines, “audiences could presumably skip this film and show up for Episode IX without experiencing the slightest confusion as to what happened in the interim.” CNN’s Brian Lowry wrote that despite reintegrating Luke Skywalker into the main action of the series, the film is a “significant letdown” in terms of its story.

I saw it on Saturday.... its meh.. like Episode 1 is only slightly worse...
They dont' want to offend anyone and just stitched a load of things together while also feeding the merchandise machine. A couple of good bits but soo many wasted opportunities if only disney had some balls

Posting this from [H] as it sums up my view

Quote:
1) Superman Leia - WHAT? Dumb as fuck.
2) Why are cannons lobbed in space towards a cruiser, what happened to lasers? Dumb as fuck.
3) Snokes death? Dumb as fuck.
4) Luke teaching Rey - could have been cool but was terribly written - Dumb as fuck.
5) Casino - trying to compete with Jabba's scene, never going to compete and left huge holes. Dumb as fuck.
6) Trying to re-create the Hoth battle on a salt land? Dumb as fuck.
7) New AT-AT's cannot destroy old school rusty salt speeders? Dumb as fuck.
8) Rose? Dumb as fuck.
9) Invincible Jedi's? Dumb as fuck.
10) No good light saber battle? Dumb as fuck.

Dumb as fuck. That's why it's got a shitty score

Sad. I decided to look for spoilers to see if some of my expectations came true, and sadly they did.

There was just no way Disney was ever going to do a good job with the franchise. It was the franchise that was going to do a good job for Disney. I won't be part of that. I'm hoping hackers release everything Disney produces and bankrupts the company.

I'd also add that Disney having bought Fox is now too big and needs to have its pieces sold off.

They probably do, it's almost Christmas, so I'd except a couple of formal work events over at Disney HQ.

Saw it yesterday. It seemed too long. Too predictable. Too meh. Nowhere near as good as Rogue One. I thought Adam Driver did a good job.

yup, but tbf this is good...
As I said in other threads on this topic...

4-7 cover becoming a Jedi & an established sith
1-3 covered the decent into sith
8-9 so far have shown the turmoil of being a sith

now either it is by chance and emo boy is just emo or by design. I hope it is design as it will be the only saving grace for the new films... Kilo being topless certainly wasn't (my daughter went "Ewww", my son goes, "why is that in the film" and my wife and I go "WTF" )

It seems just about every movie coming out these days has an SJW agenda. Why wasn't the heroine topless?

The more I think about this film, the more it pisses me off...
Snoke could have been soo much more interesting but they fucked that up
Luke & rey on Ahch-To had potential but they fucked it like some cheap Thai hooker
Phasma was shafted & wasted ...
That entire 1h in the middle (for what???) could have been removed and it would have made no difference to the film

Femanists are praising the film but not because of the story... (speaks volumes...)

The director is defending the film on the basis you can't please everyone and people were not going to like it whatever... All you had to do was not fuck it up.

Because of SJW... I have no problem with male or female nakedness on film (obviously prefer female) but it has to serve a purpose, just putting a baby-smooth wet topless sith lord because ... why the hell not made no fucking sense. Now I am sure some feminist would QQ back say "but women were 'made' to be topless in films, why not men" Well plenty of men were topless as well in quite a lot of films thank you very much BUT the majority of the time it served a purpose & yes there were time a naked women served no other purpose but to be naked ...

Thing is, you don't need to know that much about Star Wars to write a good Star Wars move - not when you've got a returning iconic character (Luke)

It should be impossible to screw up.

Thats what pisses me off with the way they are going... Luke on Ahch-To was appearing to be the saving grace & I even agreed with his view on the way the Jedi should go... but they fucked it. I am holding out that emo-boy is emo as he is in turmoil but that equally could be personification of crap
