Hello,
It seems that "having numlock enabled at startup" is a very very old topic, but I haven't found any solution (thence my first message on this forum).
So my situation:
BIOS, Grub -------------------------------------------------> numlock (ie the LED) on
system starts -----------------------------------------------> numlock off
password for my luks partition (it's a GUI, not a CLI) -> numlock still off, so I have to press one button for the number(s) in my password, and I'm lazy
login screen (Plasma - sddm) -----------------------------> numlock off again, so I have to press one button, and I'm lazy
sessions opened, desktop, ... -----------------------------> numlock on (in the Control Panel -> ... -> keyboard numlock is activated at Plasma's startup, at least this works).
log out -------------------------------------------------------> numlock off again
I have edited /etc/sddm.conf and in the [General] section I have added this line: Numlock=on. No result (maybe like just above, it's for session startup and not for login screen)
When I use /usr/bin/numlockx on/off it works well!
Does anyone have a solution (a custom systemd service? a wrong uppercase in a conf file) that would work?
Thanks! |
