|
|
I have installed Gentoo with both the Xfce and MATE desktop environments installed. Neither desktop allows the use of the keyboard brightness keys on my laptop. I am using acpilight and have followed the ACPI guide on the wiki for configuring the kernel. I am also using a custom kernel rather than genkernel. I did notice that showkey returns no values for my brightness keys, but it works fine for everything else. Also strangely, the xbacklight command works, but I don't have xbacklight installed. I am running on an Intel 4th gen processor with the VIDEO_CARDS make.conf flag set to intel i965. Is there a way to configure my keyboard to work? Using tools like xmodmap or setting a script to be run with keyboard press has been totally ineffective; they simply do not work. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

Have you tried booting your laptop with a different distribution (Live USB, for instance) to check if it actually works? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
