skype asks for keyring password

Since upgrading to the new version of skype (skypeforlinux) I am asked for a "keyring password" every time I start the software. I never set up a keyring password an none of my other passwords are accepted. This is very annoying. Is there any way to get rid of this message? Ideally, skype would remember my login without asking for the password each time. If keyring is really required, at least I would like to set it up properly so that I know the password. Any hints?
