Hi! I have installed gentoo, but could not resolve some problems. The first one is that virtualbox-modules cannot be emerged. Here is the relevant errors from build log.

Code:

I have issues with other packages (like missing gdk-pixbuf-xlib unless X use flag is set), and they were solved by putting necessary use flags in per-package configs. However, in this case the problem seems to be with source code.

I have found this thread https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1065822-highlight-virtualboxmodules.html pointing out that virtualbox-modules code is not in sync with kernel, so it cannot compile.

The simplest solution is unmask version 5.1.26 or 5.1.24, otherwise backport patch in bug for your version

I tend to agree, keywording the 5.1.24 versions of virtualbox, virtualbox-extpack-oracle, and virtualbox-modules "just worked".

OK, it works, thanks. Any further troubles with using virtualbox will file separately.
