Hi experts, I am running ' emerge -e @world' on my gentoo server and at the time of ncurses, I get the below error -

I am not sure what needs to be done to get this installed, completely out of ideas.

I *think* portage at that moment is trying to find used, old references to libraries and crashes there. You might try to find if you have such a file on your system: /lib64/libncursesw.so.5.9 . If yes run equery b /lib64/libncursesw.so.5.9. If no package claims that file, you may safely remove it manually. If you have an error while querying packages, then you should reinstall portage:

emerge -a1 portage

You might also want to run

emerge -a @preserved-rebuild

and see what happens.
