Has the lumina desktop environment been tested enough to know whether or not these are common issues and perhaps if they are part of the risk of using a lesser known DE for the time being. I really like the look and feel of this one, and would like to get it to work, but here is what is happening:
1) Every once in a while the windows that are new windows are minimized and I cannot find those windows. To expand on this, it usually also involves a freeze of some kind of the entire DE that has to be restarted somehow, either through a openrc service (rc-service xdm restart) or by terminating the X server/session (killall X)
2) Not sure if this next one is related to the DE at all, but this has happened twice now, where the screen is non-functional in that I can hardly track the location of items during the refresh cycles the bouncing around of items all over the screen and what appears like a scrolling upward/downward or left to right etc. This is very problematic because it pretty much means I will have to shut down, and yet cannot access even a terminal that is outside of the virutal terminal (tty) being used for the DE. In other words, all screens appear this way!

Not sure how to be saying what is the things that might be causing the problems and is it worth it to check for these as possible bugs, or to look through some logs to try and debug either the X.org is where I thought to start...here is the whole thing. Here are the two most recent(?)

Also note, I don't think related but i did recently go through the process of extensive updates to both kernel and compilers, plus to some extent some of the x11 libraries. If it would help to provide any other info, here is the output to the desktop environment package I am currently using and the stuff from emerge --info:

jonr@playby /var/log $ emerge -pv lumina

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ~] x11-wm/lumina-1.3.0_p1::gentoo USE="desktop-utils" 0 KiB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 KiB

you may build from git source

https://github.com/trueos/lumina/commit/1a84ce27bfbe526a799cfacdf68597cc5cb85937

it looks like version 1.3.2 is the current one.

also check bugs.gentoo.org for any newer ebuild or the overlays for any newer ebuild

That is what the 9999 ebuild https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/tree/x11-wm/lumina/lumina-9999.ebuild is made for.

Where in https://github.com/trueos/lumina/releases did you see 1.3.2?

And also the upstream bugs mentioned on https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Lumina
