Hello world,

status of my system:

fresh installation of gentoo desktop/gnome/systemd
switching to dantrell-gnome and openrc because of xen
switching to gcc 6.4.0
Code:
emerge libtool llvm clang gcc
revdep-rebuild --library 'libstdc++.so.6' -- --exclude gcc
emerge -e @system @world

a few packages couldn't emerge (dev-lang/ruby media-libs/libid3tag app-forensics/libewf x11-libs/cairo x11-libs/wxGTK) Edit: solved with chroot (dev-util/ragel app-emulation/virtualbox-modules app-text/djvu sys-block/thin-provisioning-tools)

If I try to emerge sys-libs/glibc then the following is written:
Code:
gcc: warning: ‘-mpcommit’ was deprecated
cc1: warning: ‘-mpcommit’ was deprecated

but emerge is successfully.

System start:
Code:
installing zpool.cache into "rpool"
/init: line 810: 707 segmentation fault cp -f "${cache_file}" "${_rootfs_cache_file}"
Stopping udev...
Unmounting kernel devices...
Premounting /run onto the rootfs...
Switching into rootfs...

init 2.88: booting
segmentation violation sleeping for 30 seconds

then it hangs forever

How can I find out what's the cause of the segmentation fault.

Maybe a library doesn't match a binary.

Is there a log from init?

Code:
uname -a
Linux allengen 4.12.5-gentoo #5 SMP Fri Aug 18 10:14:13 CEST 2017 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

root on zfs 0.7.1 / bliss-initramfs

Many thanks

Hi,

the solution I found is:

Code:
emerge sys-apps/sysvinit

and the error was gone.

have a nice day
