Hi all,

I accidentally deleted some packages inside /usr/[architecture]. How to I tell portage to check if all the packages are still there and if not, to emerge them? revdev-rebuild doesn't do anything. Can you help?

Thank you,
Nelson

You mean /usr/lib64? or /usr/lib32?

Assuming that is the case, you should restore the files from your backups.

No backups? Lesson learned I hope. Go with emerge -e @world and hope python and gcc haven't gotten borked.

Code:
qcheck --help

Just an idea, I let you discover what and how.

Hi, I've tried emerge -e @world pretend but it want to reinstall everything and the only thing I needed were some packages in the /usr/arv7a-hardfloat-linux-gnueabi. Most of the stuff was still there.

BTW, I don't usually backup the OS, only content and sensitive config files. Worst case scenario I can just re-emerge everything.

Thanks.

Perfect. That's exactly what I was looking for. Already fixed the package I was missing.

Thank you.
