At one point of time mozilla switched sides: now it works for web publishers subverting end-users needs. So I decided to mask all newer versions of the firefox some time ago. The obvious problem is that I stopped updating its embedded certificate storage. Could I somehow make firefox use system certificate storage?

Not that I'm doubting you but do you have proof? I'd like to read into that.
