|
|
Hello,
Since the last Plasma/Qt updates a few days ago all programs that use Qt lag when they do some read/write operations on the HDD(I assume). This happens in LXDE but not in KDE/Plasma.
When I try to delete the trash bin in Dolphin, then Dolphin is unresponsive for ~15secs.
Same thing happens with Konsole, e.g. when I press tab to autocomplete filenames. The mouse cursor is not being drawn inside Konsole during the freeze.
The programs don't crash though, after the lag they operate normally, they just freeze up for a while.
One time I noticed that one CPU core was at 100% load when Konsole froze, after the freeze the load was gone.
Packages that depend on GTK function normally in both LXDE and KDE/Plasma.
Unfortunately I don't remember which packages exactly got updated, but there was a lot of Plasma/Qt stuff.
Is anyone experiencing the same thing?
I will post more detailed systems specs later on, can't do it right now.
Thanks |

Same here, startx fvwm + kde-apps.
Downgrading plasma from 5.10.5 to 5.9.5 fixes this for me. |

I noticed when you start the programs with a user that didn't start the X session, the problem disappears. |

Thanks, I applied the patch. Dolphin and Konsole work normally now but Qupzilla still has the same issue.
Do I have to re-emerge all packages that depend on knotifications too? |

I think so.
kwallet depends on knotifications so if you have "kwallet" USE flag enabled for qupzilla this causes the issue. |
