|
|
I just completed a new gentoo install with the newer wine:
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Wine:_New_Packaging
The store isn't functioning as it did before with the suffix:
-no-cef-sandbox
env WINEPREFIX="/home/usename/.wine" /usr/lib/wine-staging-2.12/bin/wine '/home/usename/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steam.exe -no-cef-sandbox
Anyone else having this issue?

The default WINEPREFIX Windows version of Windows 7 - currently breaks the Steam store, etc.
See: WineHQ Bugzilla: Bug 43319 - Steam Store and Uplay no longer display text (in Windows 7 mode) ...
See: WineHQ AppDB: Steam Client for some workarounds...
The Installation section details how to do setup a Windows XP - App Override - just for the Steam client executable.
I'm also keeping the page up-to-date with the required Wine versions - to run Steam - see the Steam Client Build Issues section.
Currently Wine Staging 2.12 ticks the box in this respect - but don't hold your breath!

Setting it to Vista works too, YMMV. |
