And how do you pronounce "router" as in "Route 66" or "rauter"?

Log in, log out & like "rauter". Saying it like Route 66 (so like rooter) makes it sound like a horny Australian rather than a networking device... though a horny Australian is doing his own form of networking.

Router is like the route that leads you somewhere. and i login and out like one would tune in and out.

It's always login and logout. It's been that way since the early days of un*x. When was the last time you saw some un*x's /sbin/getty (or /etc/getty) run /bin/login (/bin/yes!!!) say:

Code:
Some Unix Flavor
logon: root
password:

and this still works in bash, if it was a login shell:
Code:
$ logout
bash: logout: not login shell: use `exit'
$ logoff
bash: logoff: command not found
$

That power tool that does beveled/plunge wood edge cuts... Who in their right mind calls it a rooter?

And it's also raute 66, you won't get root from me.

I always say roouter.

Note the emphasis on the extra o. Any other form of pronunciation is barbaric.

Now excuse old JB, whilst he gets his riding crop and goes orf to thrash the lower orders. What.
