Is this considered a burner that requires the "hdx=ide-scsi" option included in the kernel? I can't seem to get it to mount. I do have the option already included in grub. I can mount my other cd burner, but does this mean I can also burn properly? Thanks |

there is no option in the kernel to specify hdx=scsi...you have scsi emulation that must be enabled for any ide-cdrw to work in linux...you must also have scsi disk support , scsi cdrom and scsi generic support...the hdx=scsi is a kernel line option for grub , that must also be present.
do you have more then one cdrw in your system? |

yea, i have 2. right now i can only access the old one. it seems like linux is only picking up the old one and putting it at /dev/cdroms/cdrom0 (tried mounting other cdroms, didnt work). i think i have everything setup right (as stated in the guide). compiled scsi support, added the option to grub (hdc=ide-scsi). anything im missing? thx |
