|I recently finished installing gentoo on my computer, but after I rebooted the installation the wifi won't work.
I don't have an ethernet port on my laptop, it's a dell latitude 2 in 1, so I'm trying to connect using wireless.
I did without any issue.
Then I tried to do but it timed out after it said waiting for carrier.
I feel like all the drivers were installed correctly but it doesn't know the access point it is supposed to connect to.
After getting help from the gentoo IRC channel, I chrooted into the system using the liveCD and installed wpa_supplicant. I followed manual that came with the supplicant and also followed the steps in this URL: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Network_management_using_DHCPCD. This was for WPA2.
