I've just installed gentoo, I'm able to login but that's pretty much it, running any command (for example ls) logs me out
I have found the following in the journal at the time of the logout:
Jul 08 12:53:59 localhost systemd-coredump[1516]: Process 1480 (bash) of user 1000 dumped core.

If I have *just* installed Gentoo and I encounter a serious show-stopper, my go-to solution is to redo the install, unless I know off the top of my head what I did wrong - usually because I overlooked something. I don't find it worthwhile to troubleshoot major problems that pop up on the first login after an install. It has always been faster to redo it than figure it out. _________________ decibel Linux: https://decibellinux.org
