Hi,
with many packages I got this, it is not big deal, but I'm curious how to fix it:

Have you tried icedtea-3.4.0? | $ qlist icedtea | grep /usr/share/icons/: | /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/java-1.8.0.png

As is said earlier problem look like any package specific, I can post list of 15-20 packages have same problem. |

x11-themes/gtk-engines-adwaita-3.20.2
x11-themes/adwaita-icon-theme-3.20
x11-themes/gnome-themes-standard-3.20.2-r1 |
Then try again unmerging all other icon-themes except hicolor-icon-theme |

No problem, icons is really minor problem for me.

All except hicolor-icon-theme, and of course keep the virtual one.
Then, the Failed to update cache message should go away. |

Forgive me but I don't get it... I use some of them and when I remove Nou and Nouovo error message go away, so I'm good. |

Forgive me but I don't get it... I use some of them and when I remove Nou and Nouovo error message go away, so I'm good. |
