Hello everyone,

I have a bit of a strange problem. A few days ago I installed cinnamon (next to i3), and somehow my bluetooth is not working. I use gnome-bluetooth to connect, but the sound application (or pavucontrol for that matter) does not recognize my bluetooth device (which is a Sony SBH54).

I probably have to install this applet: https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon-bluetooth , but when I follow the installation instructions and use ./configure in the main directory (after extracting the zip file), it just says that there is 'no such file or directory' (hence the command does not exist).

I cannot find much info on this problem online altogether. Does anyone here know what I'm doing wrong (or how to solve this)?

Not clear, is it working in i3? Is it working from CLI?

Yes, it is working in i3, in both DE's from cli.

I'm just not able to use it at all in Cinnamon.

You should use an ebuild instead of manual install: http://gpo.zugaina.org/net-wireless/cinnamon-bluetooth

It's working properly now.

I forgot to say that the first thing I tried was actually getting the ebuild from the Sabayon overlay, but it doesn't compile. Somehow I completely forgot to look in the error last time though.
Anyway, after a bit of looking into the error message I found that cinnamon uses 'blueberry' now, after which things went smoothly.

One final question: What is the normal procedure here after a problem is solved? Do people leave the thread (and add [SOLVED]) or am I supposed to delete it?

Thanks for your help :-)

Yes, adding [Solved] is nice. Deleting anything is not appreciated, these forums are supposed to serve people who search for similar problems for years to come. Forums work in both ways, give and take.
