Continued from Last film you watched.

Ex Machina

The plot has some significant groan inducing moments. Moving past that, the main character (Caleb) is uninteresting, as is the antagonist (Nathan), on top of being unconvincing. Although the actress portraying Ava has piqued my interest in seeing the reboot of Tomb Raider.

I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which was mostly an average film with good visuals and almost engaging story line.

Anyhow... I've been watching a lot of TV series, some of them are better than movies.

1. Beyond The Walls, French TV series, available on Shudder channel on Amazon Videos. This is what nightmares are made of. The makers made an effort into making a horror series that actually has horror and made of stuff of your nightmares. Recommended.

2. Patriot. Amazon Prime series. Funny, unconventional. Recommended.

3. Legion. Somewhat unconventional although not quite original. I watched it for the voluptuous leading lady. Almost recommended, if you're into X-men and comic book nonsense (but it doesn't start as comic-booky but definitely ends as one.)

Legion isn't yet free with Prime, but I'll try to remember that one.

Melanie Bird, I assume.

Enjoyed Legion, bit surreal - then again it's meant to be, there's a bit of a gap between what the screen version of legion can do and the comic book version.

Gleason
After he is diagnosed with ALS, former professional football player Steve Gleason begins making a video diary for his unborn son, as he, his wife, and their friends and family work to raise money for ALS patients as his disease progresses.

Amy
Archival footage and personal testimonials present an intimate portrait of the life and career of British singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse.

Both good if the subject matter is at all of interest.

Star Wars Rogue One.

Just got the DVD.

I still believe it is the best Star Wars. Even better than The Empire Strikes Back.

Rogue One. Far, far better than that Force Awakens rehash crap.

Unfortunately I never got a chance to see it. But I still find this sentiment surprising, given that the outcome is already known.

That it was better than EP7 doesn't say much. In fact, I'd say the SNL parody was immensely better than the actual movie.

Watched Falling Down, again. Is probably more relevant given current political climate.

Is 15 like 'highest rating you are likely to find in theaters'? AKIRA is pretty violent.

My favs are Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.

no, thats 18. my kids are 9 and 6 so subjecting them to a 12-rated film is "pushing it" but I know them and I know the films. A 15 however... a bit too much

Following NAG's lead, Travelers on Netflix. Very interesting premise, and much better than I anticipated.

And following my brother from another mother, Old School, I picked up the Rogue One disc today. Though that one is saved for Sunday night.

Watched it on a flight on a screen smaller than my Galaxy S5's and it was good. Don't expect something mind blowing, just good entertainment.
