I am trying to setup everything to setup xorg environment on vmware but when I run this command

Code:

root #emerge --ask --verbose x11-base/xorg-drivers

I am getting this output

https://ibb.co/euNSFa

I have been trying different things to setup gnome desktop environment but probably I run a command which I shouldn't.

Any help on this I don't want to install everything from scratch again

Thank you maxxx! that's solved my problem!

I couldn't quite understand the error message. So what I understand from the man page I need to run

Code:
etc-update

right?

In the documentation says

Code:

When the installation is finished, some environment variables will need to re-initialized before continuing. Source the profile with this command:

root #env-update
root #source /etc/profile

What is the difference between env-update and etc-update?

Code:
etc-update

this command updates configuration files in /etc/portage

Code:
env-update

this command updates the environment setups... it reads files in /etc/env.d and automatically it generates file /etc/profile.env and /etc/ld.so.conf
