Are there any cloud server providers that support Gentoo?

How about a cloud VM where I can install Gentoo myself?

You could for example create a local vm using VMWare and then import the image to AWS cloud

https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/vm-import/

Interesting. Do other cloud services typically allow you to import a VM or is that fairly unique to AWS?

I believe Docker does this. Digital Ocean and AWS allow Docker instances....

Any news on this? I don't care if they support Gentoo or not. I've been doing it for ages myself. But knowing about providers that others have tested successfully with Gentoo would be nice.

I am thinking about moving my ERP to a cloud instance, as long as the price is not too high. My requirements, machine-wise, are pretty low. I could probably do even with 1GB RAM. All I need is root access to my own machine so I can do whatever I want with it.

I gave Scaleway a try a few weeks ago and am 1.06€ poorer for the experience - thankfully they only bill by the hour. If you can live without Gentoo, and with a short list of insecure kernels to boot from, you might be able to tolerate it.

I don't have direct data on this, but linode might work.

I asked awhile back if they supported pfSense as a firewall option. They said no, but then went on to say that I could upload it through a tar pipe and it would work. Never got around to trying that but if they support pfSense they should support Gentoo.

If I could change my ways (easily) at this momment, I could very well use any of the very well known providers that use CentOS or Debian. I am not for it really. I'd rather hang a box on a tree in the middle of my city, and then call that "the cloud".
