I just did a emerge -uDN @world

Unfortunately my login screen changed from theme "breeze" to theme "maui" after the upgrade. In other words my /etc/sddm.conf file must have been overwritten, which should not happen in a Gentoo emerge -uDN @world

I changed the theme back to breeze in /etc/sddm.conf

Code:
[Theme]
# Current theme name
Current=breeze

I got the breeze theme back. But the fonts are now uggly (fuzzy) at the login page.

Why is that? Is there anything more I have to recover in order to get the nice breeze theme login page look normal again?

Switch back to breeze theme using the sddm-kcm in systemsettings.

I did try to switch back to breeze theme using the sddm-kcm in systemsettings. But the problem persist unfortunately. Fonts on the login page are still fuzzy and uggly.
I also noticed that the fixed width font had been changed after the emerge -uDN @world. It had been changed to Hack 14. I changed it back to oxygen Mono 12, which I believe I had before (is this the default for Breeze fixed width font?).

It is quite worrisome that system settings get modified without intervention in a emerge -uDN @world.

There may be one clue to a solution of the problem. When my laptop goes into power save mode and when I wake it up to login again, the fonts are crisp clear and fine.
Thus in short:

- when I boot my computer, or login out and in again the fonts on the login page are ugly and fuzzy.
- when I am greeted by the login page after a power save the fonts are OK

For some reason other fonts are activated at login than those choen after a power save

Does anyone know where the login screen with theme "breeze" in kde-apps/kde-meta-16.08.3 get its font from, before login to the KDE session?
