|
|
Because flash started to failed for a while in firefox, it appeared Code: | equery u abobeflash
!!! No packages matching 'abobeflash'
n ~ # [1] equery u adobeflash
!!! No packages matching 'adobeflash'
n ~ # [1] equery u adobe-flash
[ Legend : U - final flag setting for installation]
[ : I - package is installed with flag ]
[ Colors : set, unset ]
* Found these USE flags for www-plugins/adobe-flash-24.0.0.194:
U I
- - abi_x86_32 : 32-bit (x86) libraries
+ + abi_x86_64 : 64-bit (amd64) libraries
- - kde : Install a KCM plugin for configuring flash player preferences
+ + nsplugin : Install the Netscape Flash API plugin (for Firefox and
similar browsers)
+ + ppapi : Install the Pepper Flash API plugin (for Chrome and similar
browsers) | ppapi had to be activated. Didn't try to inhibit nplugin to see if it would work still.
The 2nd point is that firefox reports both adobe-flash 13.1-r2 & 24.0 are both installed.
Any advice?
Thks 4 ur attention.

Adobe ended up changing so that Flash-24 actually supports Firefox directly and no longer need the translation layer.
If you want to use with Firefox and have no intent on using with Chromium, you can install adobe-flash-24 with USE="nsplugin -ppapi" and you do not need Flash 11.1 anymore, it's OK to unmerge 11.1. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

adobe-flash 13.1-r2 is only reported by firefox, and Code: | eix adobe-flash
[I] www-plugins/adobe-flash
Available versions: (22) 24.0.0.194^ms
{kde +nsplugin +ppapi ABI_MIPS="n32 n64 o32" ABI_PPC="32 64" ABI_S390="32 64" ABI_X86="32 64 x32"}
Installed versions: 24.0.0.194(22)^ms(15:27:01 08/02/2017)(nsplugin ppapi -kde ABI_MIPS="-n32 -n64 -o32" ABI_PPC="-32 -64" ABI_S390="-32 -64" ABI_X86="64 -32 -x32")

Ugh. You probably have an orphan or self-install(untracked by portage) file somewhere. Try creating a fresh account and see if just version 24 shows up. If it does, you know your regular account is the problem.
If it still shows up on a fresh account, then you'll have to poke around your filesystem to find the offending libflashplayer.so ... you could just search for it, or snoop around /usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins or /opt/Adobe/flash-player for old files... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
