Rodney Bewes

Doubt many here know who he is, used to be in the 'The Likely Lads' during the 70's - it had an extremely poignant theme :

Never heard of her, but sounds like she may have been the victim of online bullying.

That isn't homophobia.

I'll not get into that debate because there isn't enough information to make a clear evaluation.

It certainly IS discrimination though, based on sexual preference, which is illegal. I'm not saying it SHOULD be illegal, but it is at this point.

Not in this case. You cannot be forced to have sex with anyone, that's rape.

Do your job.

Sorry, wrong topic.

But that's the ultimate point. I was only thinking of reported health risks associated with risky behaviors of the gay and bi-sexual (male?) population. Maybe that has changed. Then of course there is the issue of the industry itself. Are they more or less likely to engage in those risky behaviors? Testing is one thing, but it seems a reasonable choice each employee should be able to make.

Actually, discrimination based on sexual preference is not illegal. What's illegal is illegal discrimination based on sexual preference. It's a very important distinction.

Nope. Still the highest risk group for STDs.

facts, don't you just hate them :) https://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/research-reports/hivaids/who-risk-hiv-infection-which-populations-are-most-affected

63% in total

so she was driven to suicide because she wouldn't take risks that SJW classed as discriminatory.

No trolling. Discrimination is not illegal. Only a tiny number of interesting kinds of discrimination are illegal. When you choose coffee over tea, you are discriminating, but it's not illegal. When you market hair extensions to black women, you are engaging in both sexual and racial discrimination, but that's not illegal either. Now, if you refuse to sell that hair extension to an Hispanic man, THAT would be illegal discrimination. And, what's illegal is specific.

The reason the distinction us important is that such verbal generalization enables assholes who like to use one of the world's favorite logical tricks by conflation. People have done it right in this forum, and morons fall for it. Cokey has done it several times. It's exactly like saying "he should be fired because he was on drugs", about a co-worker who took over-the-counter cold medicine, and then walking around saying "Drugs! Smith is on drugs!". "He was on drugs half the time all last week! He's a druggie!". "Get rid of Smith!"

I know many may not care, but as far as I'm concerned, he paid his debt by having lived in North Korea for 40 years.

Nevermore vocalist Warrel Dane

An ex-girlfriend kept me from going to one of their shows, which ended up being their final tour before the band split. I guess this rules out a reunion :(

Not familiar with his stuff. Wikipedia lists him at 56. Either age seems early for heart failure.

Add diabetes and alcoholism to that. I'd say it's plausible at the least.

A quick web search presented three grades of informative links:
Well, alright, full disclosure, it took me a lot longer to find that last one, having run across it before but not remembered which strip it was from.

Less grades, more builtin bias sets:
Spoiler alert, the punchline is the last paragraph of the LA Times editorial.
