While using Openbox and viewing a video via MPV or Plex Media Player...If I adjust the volume...there isn't an OSD or "On Screen Display" icon for volume showing the changes.
In my current test, I have replaced Mate Marco with Openbox. If my memory is correct, this same scenairo happens while using Openbox as well.
How can i get the volume OSD icon to work?
Thanks

You have to check which software provides this on-screen display functionality. Or which software may be used for that

By chance I have figured out part of the answer....
I tried the same setup on another computer and the volume OSD worked. The difference I found was on the first computer I had inserted into the rc.xml file the following for the keyboard media keys:
Code:
    <keybind key="XF86AudioRaiseVolume">
      <action name="Execute">
        <command>sh -c "pactl set-sink-mute @DEFAULT_SINK@ false ; pactl set-sink-volume @DEFAULT_SINK@ +5%"</command>
      </action>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="XF86AudioLowerVolume">
      <action name="Execute">
        <command>sh -c "pactl set-sink-mute @DEFAULT_SINK@ false ; pactl set-sink-volume @DEFAULT_SINK@ -5%"</command>
      </action>
    </keybind>
    <keybind key="XF86AudioMute">
      <action name="Execute">
        <command>pactl set-sink-mute @DEFAULT_SINK@ toggle</command>
      </action>
    </keybind>

This caused the volume OSD to be blocked / disabled when using Openbox as a replacement WM...as in my setup with Mate.

So now I still need to investigate the volume OSD for an "Openbox only" setup.
