I'm new to QT and have the following installed:
dev-qt/qt-creator-3.6.1
dev-qt/qtcore-5.6.2-r1

I have qt5 included as a USE flag in make.conf.

Each time I open qtcreator to "open a project", or if I do "new project" and then click finish, qtcreator crashes (seqfaults) with the following message in /var/log/messages.

kernel: traps: qtcreatorf[682] general protection ip:7f0384d1e344 sp:7ffe50c13bc0 error:0 in libQtWidgets.so.5.6.2[740384a91000+64c000]

Anyone have thoughts?

I'm having a similar issue with when opening existing projects/creating new projects.

When I open an existing project, qtcreator shows the "Configure Project" page.
But as soon as "Configure Project" is clicked, qtcreator crashes
kernel: qtcreator[15734]: segfault at 8 ip 00007f5b7bac67f4 sp 00007ffc992daf50 error 4 in libQt5Widgets.so.5.6.2[7f5b7b839000+64d000]

As this was no problem when only QT4 was on the system, my first guess would be that it has something to do with QT5 changes.
I also did an emerge -e world recently and the error persisted, so it should not be a build/linking problem.

But the project is can be built without problems via command line:
Code:
qmake project.pro
make

which defaults to QT4.

The explicit selection for QT5
Code:
/usr/lib64/qt5/bin/qmake project.pro
make

builds also fine from the command line.

Via strace I found out that
Quote:

stat("/usr/lib64/qt5/bin/qtquickcompiler", 0x7fffb02ecd00) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
stat("/usr/lib64/qt5/bin/make", 0x7fffb02ecc30) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

are two files that qt-creator wants to access but are not there.
But sadly to definite direction to a solution.
