Just sync'd three hours ago: | Code: | gentoo ~ # eix evolution-data-server
* gnome-extra/evolution-data-server
Available versions: 3.20.5(0/57)^t ~3.20.6(0/57)^t ~3.22.3(0/59)^t {api-doc-extras berkdb +gnome-online-accounts google +gtk +introspection ipv6 kerberos ldap test vala +weather}
Homepage: https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Evolution
Description: Evolution groupware backend
| Sync and try again.
| Code: | gentoo ~ # equery d evolution-data-server
* These packages depend on evolution-data-server:
app-office/abiword-3.0.1 (eds ? >=gnome-extra/evolution-data-server-3.6.0)
| Sounds like an "oops". Stable package in the tree needs a package not in the tree. Maybe the dev meant <= instead. File a bug report. |

If you need more guidance, please post the full output so that we can see why Portage wants an old ebuild. |

| I suspect that OP has some severely outdated package installed that has the dependency and that, back when that package was new, a low enough EDS existed in the tree. If we had the full output (command issued and all its text), we could readily confirm or refute my theory. |
