After updating Plasma to 5.8.3 I can no longer use Wayland session in SDDM(it drops back to SDDM) and run apps from Gnome like Terminal...
Everything worked fine before updating. Any workarounds? |

Are you sure you were logging into Wayland sessions with Plasma-5.7.5? |

Not sure if it was 5.7.5-it was previous stable version from Gentoo repo.
First I was able to run only X sesion, but after installing latest testing mesa (13) I was able to run Plasma on Wayland. Also, I'm running Gnome on Wayland now.
The only problem I had was inability to run Plasma on Wayland from GDM, but SDDM worked fine.(This problem is described in Red Hat Bugzilla as Bug 1389584. I had exactly the same issue, but wasn't sure if I should report it to Gentoo Bugzilla... |

Well, that certainly is amazing. But wayland support is nowhere near stable, and I don't think anyone is testing it on a regular basis, there is no wiki for it, dependencies to make it work with openrc are missing in tree and not yet completely figured out or landed upstream, so I sort of expect it to come and go. |

It's too bad I can not roll it back to previous version -it is removed from portage tree... Also any ideas on Gnome (gtk) apps? They just don't start either(tried calc and term, both failing) |
