Hi, ALL,
In the next day or two I will try to perform an install of the Sybase ASE 16.0 (latest released version of the DB) on Gentoo.
I found this page, but it is outdated as it talks about ASE version 12.5.

It also says that one of the pre-requisites is libstdc++ (or lib-compat on Gentoo). Looking at the Portage I see that it is permanently masked:

Code:

Permanently mask sys-libs/lib-compat and its reverse dependencies, pending multiple security vulnerabilities and QA issues. See bugs #515926 and #510960.
.

So it looks like this is not going to be installed.
Now, according to this URL, I need an openmotif. Looking around I see that motif is in Portage. (ref. https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/x11-libs/motif). Is it the same? Or I have to install a different library? And according to the link above the libstdc++ is not required anymore.

So, the only thing is OpenMotiff vs Motiff requirements.

Could someone please shed some light?

Thank you.
