Quote:
World's first monkey-pig hybrids are born in Chinese lab as part of ground-breaking bid to grow human organs inside animals for transplants

Chimera piglets contained DNA from both pigs and cynomolgus monkeys

They died within a week of being born at a laboratory in Beijing, China

Scientists claimed the research aimed to find a way of growing human organs

Finally.

We now have bacon producing animals who can fling their dung at us.

{EDIT}

This means that now we have a source for both kosher and halal bacon! Monkeys do not have a cloven hoof.

Why? The Chi-coms still have a lot of Uyghurs to harvest.

One will hear crickets when it comes to Democratic Party candidates criticizing their big supporters in China.

Creepy, but necessary for scientific progress. I would like to have real wings, artificial limbs/organs, and live 380 years.

Wrong? I suppose more research setbacks.

Interaction with avian H5N1 in pigs wrote:
Pigs are unusual as they can be infected with influenza strains that usually infect three different species: pigs, birds and humans.[23] This makes pigs a host where influenza viruses might exchange genes, producing new and dangerous strains.[23] Avian influenza virus H3N2 is endemic in pigs in China, and has been detected in pigs in Vietnam, increasing fears of the emergence of new variant strains.[24] H3N2 evolved from H2N2 by antigenic shift.[25] In August 2004, researchers in China found H5N1 in pigs.[26]

Human immunodeficiency virus wrote:
[Both HIV1 and HIV2] originated in west and central Africa, jumping from other primates to humans. HIV-1 has evolved from a simian immunodeficiency virus (SIVcpz) found in the subspecies P. t. troglodytes of southern Cameroon.[146][147] Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has the greatest genetic diversity of HIV-1 so far discovered, suggesting the virus has been there longer than anywhere else. HIV-2 crossed species from a different strain of HIV, found in the sooty mangabey monkeys in Guinea-Bissau.
