I am struggling to get Layman working with a Git repository. There really isn't enough information on the wiki page for this.
The closest thing I found was this:
Code: |
# layman -o https://raw.githubusercontent.com/maxrp/profanity-overlay/master/repository.xml -f -a profanity
* Fetching remote list,...
* Fetching new list... https://raw.githubusercontent.com/maxrp/profanity-overlay/master/repository.xml
* Last-modified: Mon, 24 Oct 2016 12:51:30 GMT
* Remote list already up to date: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/repositories.xml
* Last-modified: Mon, 24 Oct 2016 12:40:42 GMT
* Fetch Ok
* Adding overlay,...
* Warning: an installed db file was not found at: ['/var/lib/layman/installed.xml']
* Exception: Overlay "profanity" does not exist.
* CLI: Errors occurred processing action add
* Exception: Overlay "profanity" does not exist.

It doesn't work, I hardly understand layman, this is my first use. I am hurried to get this installed at a customers request. Can someone please give me easy directions if I want to add a github overlay, it should be simple, and someone should probably add it to the wiki.

Hello.
Looking at given repository.xml, repo name is profanity-overlay.
Typing the right repo name may help a little :p
