I just wanted to point out the install doc currently recommends a 100MB /boot partition. Methinks there is one to many zeros in that number... |

Thats an interesting opinion, but as far as I have seen in practice and suggestions the documents are "as was intended", there is no mistake. I can certainly see your point of view given how much of my 100MB boot partition is unused, however I think the Gentoo developers intended it to read 100MB.

I concur with Bonez. I think they just made it large enough where the vast majority of users would never run into a problem. 10MB can become a problem if you are a packrat and keep lots of old kernels around. |

Okay, I'll buy that. Not that it makes that big of a difference with the cheapness of disk space these days. It just struck me as a rather large allocation for /boot. I've never seen a recommendation larger than 50MB. |
