|
|
Hi all, thank you for adding krita back into the Gentoo tree! What exactly is the difference between compiling Calligra with just Krita, and Krita by itself, in terms of the Krita application? Does the krita bundled with calligra have more features? To save people the compilation time of each with trail / error I figured I'd start a thread (and for myself too )
Thanks!

The Krita bundled with Calligra is (a minimum of) 1 major version out of date, and uses Qt4.
If you care about compile time using the current version is a no-brainer, as it doesn't pull in qtwebkit. |

In the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5, Krita and Kexi were split out of the big Calligra repository and are now self-contained projects. While the newly ported Krita and Kexi have got releases already, the rest of Calligra is still lagging behind a bit, that's why there is only the old Qt4 version around right now (well, 'old', 2.9 got bug fix releases until very recently). |
