I just finished installing GNOME 3 with dantrell's guide to GNOME without systemd and It booted up with a white flicker at the top of my monitor and I couldn't log in with my regular user so I logged in with root. Everything looks normal except when I click on terminal it starts loading but doesn't start up.
Any ideas?
Thanks |

Moved from Desktop Environments to Unsupported Software. Note that this is more of an accounting move rather than a statement that you will not get support. We have a lot of Gentoo users that are experimenting with this configuration.

GNOME has been buggy and completely impractical ever since GNOME 3. Try using a different login manager like lightdm and check /var/log and ~/.xsession-errors for any issues there (and any log files that .xsession-errors points to.) |
