I have a problem, I have 2 users root and other kevin staff when you leave the screen for logging, I can only enter with root since entering kevin the screen returns to restart and I can not enter, despite putting good password
Code:

Sep 12 00:06:51 localhost xdm[3099]: pam_unix(xdm:session): session opened for user kevin by (uid=0)
Sep 12 00:06:51 localhost xdm[3099]: pam_ck_connector(xdm:session): nox11 mode, ignoring PAM_TTY :0
Sep 12 00:06:51 localhost xdm[3099]: pam_unix(xdm:session): session closed for user kevin
Sep 12 00:06:52 localhost xdm[3174]: pam_tally2(xdm:auth): pam_get_uid; user?
Sep 12 00:06:52 localhost xdm[3174]: pam_nologin(xdm:auth): cannot determine username
Sep 12 00:06:52 localhost xdm[3174]: pam_unix(xdm:session): close_session - error recovering username
Sep 12 00:06:52 localhost xdm[3174]: pam_mail(xdm:session): cannot determine username
Sep 12 00:06:57 localhost xdm[3186]: pam_unix(xdm:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0)
Sep 12 00:06:57 localhost xdm[3186]: pam_ck_connector(xdm:session): nox11 mode, ignoring PAM_TTY :0
Sep 12 00:07:02 localhost polkitd[2151]: Registered Authentication Agent for unix-session:/org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Session8 (system bus name :1.12 [/usr/libexec/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1], object path /org/gnome/PolicyKit1/AuthenticationAgent, locale en_US.UTF-8)
localhost log #

as seen when income with me root out that it has been registered but when income kevin close to that is?

I think there's an option on xdm to select a "failsafe" login, does that work at least? Chances are there's no default session for your user yet, or somehow it got to the default case of just logging you out.

As a test (DON'T USE AS PERMANENT WORKAROUND) create an .xsession in your user's home directory that contains the startup command for your desired session (like 'exec fvwm2').

I've not used xdm in a while, have been using lightdm... I'm not sure what the maintenance is like on xdm right now, though last I tried it, it worked...
