Since the unavoidable update to kde frameworks libraries, the compress and extract functions of my dolphin file manager always fail with the error message "Could not find the program '*.sh'". Any ideas on how to fix this?

Right after the update, these menus have disappeared and I have manually added them via 'Configure Dolphin" -> "Services" -> "Download new services", where I downloaded and locally installed "Extract and Compress for KDE4"

Is this a question about dolphin:4 (which is not in tree)? Because 'extract and compress for KDE4' certainly won't make sense on dolphin:5.

Extract and compress actions appear automatically with the presence of ark.

I have dolphin 4.14.3-r1 installed, which is kde4. Just the libraries were updated with the last world update to kde5. But actually, I just saw that dolphin should probably also have been updated (because 4.14.3-r1 does even seem to be a package in the tree anymore), but for some reason it is not pulled in by
Code:
emerge -uDNva @world

Packages that are pulled in by nothing in your world are not slated for upgrade. Thus it seems you are missing one ore more of KDE Applications meta packages. See also: https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/KDE#Applications

Indeed, I was missing the kdecore-meta package. Let's see if this will fix the problem.

Yes, updating dolphin solved the problem. Thanks.
