I found this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-980876-start-25.html
Please inform if need to follow this solution and what is the preferred way of this thread (there are some offers),
or there is more updated solution?

I have realized when updating my box that the fglrx driver is deprecated:

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Fglrx#Hardware_support
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1047504-postdays-0-postorder-asc-start-0.html

Cheers!

mimosinnet Hi,

Quote:

Strange but I updated my machine last week and did not have any issue with this driver...
I had switched from radeon to flgrx due to low performance as you may see in this topic:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1049996-highlight-.html
So according your info these are bad news... Hope it will not stop working till the opensource (radeon) driver will be improved...
Does radeon linux's driver (opensource & propreity) have less support & performance than nvidia?
Here my xorg info:
Code:

The issue is with the newer x11-base/xorg-server-1.18.4, and it only affects flgrx (ATI/AMD). You will have issues when upgrading to x11-base/xorg-server-1.18.4, and depending on the card you will have to use radeon (older cards) or amdgpu.

Cheers!
