Hope it is the right forum to ask: I have a machine with gentoo and it is working ok.
On the same machine I installed win7 on a separate Hard Drive. During win installation I disconnected gentoo Hard Drive.
Then I reconnected gentoo HD and gentoo booting ok. Then I wanted to run grub in order to have multiboot with win,
however I get strange outputs:
Code: | grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
-su: grub-mkconfig: command not found |
Code: | grub-install /dev/sda
-su: grub-install: command not found |
I get the same outputs even after re-emerge grub:
Code: | emerge --ask sys-boot/grub:2 |

Hello.
If you installed grub 2, the command prefix is grub2

Maybe Hard Drive sdb has some harware failure...

Normally in/out error is cause of hardware failure _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |
