Hi all,
I have a problem that I cannot resolve since weeks now. I'm using gnome-shell for my day to day work and I can hibernate, suspend without any problem when I explicitly ask it from the menu. My problem appears when the batery level become critical and therefor, the system try to hibernate automatically: it simply fail. In the logs I have:

I think your problem is here. You should have the value set in UPower.conf.
On my system, I've try changing this value to hibernate but nothing change in upower -d.
What systemctl status upower.service say? |

by the way, I was more thinking that my problem could comes from this segfault:

you may recompile that package
I also get such issues with newest gcc ~amd64 and sometimes recompiling these packages or packages which may relate to those sometimes fix those random issues |

Hello! Have the same problem. Trying to downgrade from upower-0.99.4 back to upower-0.99.2-r1 seems to fix this for me.
According to this bug the issue will be soon resoled in newer versions.
Does this downgrade help you?
Sincerely,
FroL_Onn
EDIT:
Ah, and "of course" - because this is GNOME - one should use
Code: | UsePercentageForPolicy=false |
at /etc/UPower/UPower.conf
Don't know why, but time for shutting down works, percentage - does not...
EDIT2:
well... it turned out, hibernation still does not work!
The segfault is gone, but the laptop only shuts down instead!!!
I've managed to turn hibernation on by laptop-mode-tools but
NOT with upower though
Code: | CriticalPowerAction=HybridSleep |
and I have hibernation capable laptop
It still automatically DOES NOT hibernate! Powers off instead!
Only configuring laptop-mode-tools saved this for me... |
