Hi everybody,
I am having trouble with the installation of xen. I followed the gentoo wiki but after two days xen already doesn't start.
In the use list in the description of efi, it says that it requires "LDFLAG -melf_x86_64" but I don't understand how to enable it..
I don't know what else it could be... I received no error..
Do anybody know if it could be the problem and how to solve it? |

Hey,could you post output of error (r),as i already understand Gentoo is not just simple OS,to solve the issues it requires full information.
LDFLAGS likely about gcc optimization https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/GCC_optimization#What_about_LDFLAGS.3F
https://packages.gentoo.org/useflags/efi.
If you need these flags enabled just add a new string in portage:
nano /etc/portage/make.conf
LDFLAGS="-melf_x86_64"
Also i guess xen is more for advanced users rather then beginners,if you have too many problems with xen maybe would be better to start from kvm first? Its up to you,good luck. |
