I used to run Arch Linux on my Lenovo G510. I noticed a weird problem with the battery, described in detail here. Basically, it would charge to 100% while the laptop was turned off. If I let it discharge below 59% capacity and then plugged it in, it would only charge to 59%.
I switched to Gentoo for several reasons. One of them was a suspicion that the problem with the battery was related to systemd. After installing Gentoo, I was able to charge the battery normally, seemingly confirming my suspicion.
However, a month or so ago I noticed it started doing this again. I think it started after I installed acpid and laptop-mode-tools. I disabled both services as well as in laptop-mode.conf, but the problem persists.
Any ideas? |

Astronome,
Is the battery overheating during charge?
Get it in the 'stuck' state then let the system cool for a couple of hours. Remove the AC for this step.
Does charging resume once its cool? _________________ Regards,

I broke this laptop today when I crashed on my bike with it in my bag
I won't be solving this anytime soon.
Thanks for your suggestions anyways. |
