Greetings!

I recently changed my make.profilels over to the gcc3 profile - everything seems to work, except when I do a

Code:
emerge --pretend --update package


I will be told that the package in question will be updated (yellow R) no matter what - if I do a

Code:
emerge --update package


I am told the index is up-to-date, and nothing happens. I have tried the obvious things like re-merging portage, and doing a fresh rsync. Other than this minor issue, everything works fine. Any help would be appreciated!
