I upgraded from kde4 to plasma 5 last month when it went stable. Most everything is working fine now, but I noticed something missing this morning.

In dolphin, right-click on a file->properties->File Type Properties. This fails & cannot find the command keditfiletype. The fix is simple - "emerge keditfiletype", but I'm pretty sure this was not necessary in earlier releases. Shouldn't this just be a dependency of dolphin or something?

It is possible that keditfiletype is missing yet from latest meta packages, can't check right now. Do you have dolphin:4 or :5 installed?

EDIT: Ah, there is keditfiletype5 as part of kde-plasma/kde-cli-tools-5.6.3

I have dolphin 4.14.3-r1 and kde-cli-tools 5.5.5 which has /usr/bin/keditfiletype5. So I guess upgrading to dolphin:5 is the real fix to this.

It is one possibility. Applications 15.12.3 is in stabilisation right now so will be available to amd64 soon. I do wonder what has been pulling in kde-apps/keditfiletypes in the past, because it seems the kde meta slot 4 packages do not either...
